I am in my apartment with my family (who are visiting, I guess) when there is an earthquake. Like my
previous dream, there is water everywhere, but it is only about six feet deep, now. I go out onto my
deck and look down at the water. I realize that the "underwater world" is dying. Everything looks
dead, too. All the plant life is brown and limp. I used to be able "swim" in the air here, but since
the world is dying, it takes a great effort to swim/fly to the street to check the mail and back.
There is a package there, so I bring it back with me. Once I'm inside again, I give my sister her
package, and open my own. It's from my aunt, Nannette and seems to be something like the old school
Polly Pockets. When I open the pocket, I realize that it's actually a portal. By bending my head
toward the toy, I am sucked into (or through?) it and into some sort of space station.
The station is huge and all one giant sphere. It seems to be made out of some kind of glass. It's
actually stained glass, so everything has hues of blue and orange and the black that is the
background of space. There is no gravity, and it's a relief to me because I had missed the flying of
the underwater world.
There are consoles and things everywhere. I look closely at one of the shelves and realize that all
over the sphere, in different areas, are tiny little civilizations. It's like watching life evolve.
I'm amazed by this, but then I start to wonder how I'm supposed to get back. I look around and think
to myself that there is no Stargate, so how am I supposed to leave? As I'm floating around, it
occurs to me that one of the stained glass panels near the top of the sphere is actually an
emergency transport back to the real world.

I, apparently, go to school in Chicago. My sister, my two roommates, and I are going to New York on
a train to see my childhood friend, Mary. While on the train, my mother calls and asks how it's
going. I tell her that we're almost there. Everything is blue-ish and dreary.
We get to Mary's place and she invites us in. It seems like it's a basement apartment, but
everything has a orange tone to it and seems brighter and more spacious than a basement apartment
has any right to. She takes us upstairs (?) and now it is my apartment, only not. I mean, the
setting is my apartment, but I know in the dream that it's Mary's. Rather than being a flat,
however, the apartment is in a huge apartment building, on a very high floor.
She has a large bay window in her living room and as I look out to the harbour (which looks
suspiciously like Halifax Harbour), I realize that something terrible is coming. Suddenly, a huge
wave starts moving toward us from the ocean. Water starts to leak in when it hits the window and
soon enough, the entire apartment is submerged.
There are tiny pockets of air in some rooms, and my sister and I find one. It runs out quickly,
though, and I start to panic. I pull her along with me into another room where one of my roommates
and a whole bunch of other people are as well. There is another air pocket here, as well, so I push
her up toward it, but I know that they're all going to die anyway.
I swim out to the living room where my other roommate is. It's getting hard to hold my breath now,
but it seems that I can continue to do so indefinitely - it just becomes more and more
uncomfortable. As I swim toward a window, I can hear the movement of water behind me and know that
my roommate has drowned. I don't want to look, so I push the window open and swim outside. The water
is everywhere; I can't even see the surface.
Additional Comments:
I have no idea why this dream takes place entirely in another country, but maybe I just don't want
bad things to happen to my home . o.o
This was the first dream I've ever had (that I remember) that I can actually call a nightmare. I've
had stressful dreams in the past, but none of them ever stayed with me once I woke up. This one has
bothered me a for a while and I'm only now able to write about it.
I also realized that my number one fear is drowning after thinking about this dream for a few days.
Yippee. =/

(Get it, because it's about pirates and Halifax, huh, huh?)
I am asleep in my room but I am Albus Dumbledore. I get the feeling that I'm currently embroiled in
a war and am just trying to get enough sleep to function. A canonball suddenly crashes through the
window opposite me but it doesn't reach me. I wake up and realize that it was only a warning - it is
too early for fresh aggressions to start, I think.
I get up and am no longer Dumbledore. My roommates are awake as well and we're all quickly getting
dressed and prepared for the war. I wonder if I should wear my Slytherin robes or if I should wear
something to blend in better downtown. I am standing in the bathroom when I notice that the
canonball in my room is flashing red. I realize right away that it is going to explode and I throw
it out the door and down our stairs. It explodes on the lawn and surpirses (but doesn't injure) a
young boy who is standing out there.
It suddenly occurs to me that this isn't war, but a pirate game that all of Halifax is playing. The
game is kind of like the game Assassins that is played in residence halls everywhere: every
household in the city has an object that they must plunder from another household before they can
move on to their next treasure. At the end of the day, the household with the most treasure wins. I
don't know how anyone knows what item from whom they must steal and in which order, but it all makes
sense in the dream.
At this point, I realize that it was the people across the street who shot the canonball into my
room and I go to look. There's a hole in my window and I can see about five people and a canon on a
balcony across the street cheering and generally being loud. It's very cold in my room depsite the
fact that it seems to be summer outside, so I creep over to the window to close the blinds (IRL, my
room is always colder if the blinds are open) to warm the room as well as to keep the enemy from
spying on us.
My roommate Lyndsay is impatient to get going and start the game, but she wanders into the bathroom
to brush her teeth anyway. She calls to me that all of our toothpaste is gone and that seems
important somehow. We start looking for a telescope, or binoculars, or something to take with us and
I find a little gold telescope that apparently belongs to my brother. It looks like plastic despite
being gold and it says "Fisher Price" on it, but I know that it actually cost $1000, so we decide
not to take it.
I go to look in my room (which is now the room that my sister and I shared at my parents'). I am
looking for this Inspector Gadget toy I had as a kid that was a blue globe that turned into
binoculars, but instead of finding it, I find a bunch of old My Little Ponies. I bring the ponies
out to the kitchen (which is also my parent's, now) and my roommates and I reminisce about how cool
they were.
There's a knock at the door and a woman and an older man come in trying to deliver coffee. They said
that they're from Second Cup and that someone here ordered coffee. I think that is it great that
they deliver, but say that they must be wrong because no one here had called them. Outside, the
street is chaotic.
I go back to my old bedroom (being careful to avoid the window) and find a black box inside an old
toy chest that contains a bunch of toothpaste from the people across the street. I realize that this
is what they are looking for, and that I had better hide it again, and in a better place. I know
that someone else must have plundered it from them, and hid it in my house. I don't want them to
have the slightest chance of seeing it, so I sneak it into a black bookbag and try to casually walk
out of the room and back to the kitchen.
My roommates and I decide that we can't risk taking it outside, so we go downstairs - by this point,
I am no longer in Halifax, but back at my parent's house. We pass the family room door and I see
that my cats are locked inside, presumably, to keep them out of the way of the "pirates" who can
enter the house during the game. We go into the downstairs bathroom which is now huge but
unfinished. I have some idea to hide the box inside the unfinished wall, but I wake up before I get
the chance.
